🌱 Diabetes Prevention Program

A proven, CDC-recognized lifestyle change program to help prevent or delay type 2 diabetes.

Did You Know? Over 96 million American adults have prediabetes — and more than 80% don't know it. The good news: type 2 diabetes can often be prevented with small lifestyle changes.

About the Program

The Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department offers the CDC-recognized National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) — a year-long lifestyle change program designed to help people with prediabetes prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes.

Led by trained lifestyle coaches, participants meet in a small group setting to work on healthier eating habits, increasing physical activity, and managing stress. The program has helped participants lose an average of 5–7% of their body weight, which can cut diabetes risk by more than half.
